Ben Davidson is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Toccoa, Ga. He began teaching himself bass guitar at the age of 14, and shortly thereafter found himself playing Rock and Pop music in various settings. After moving to Athens, Ga. in the 1990’s, he expanded his musical palette to include harmonic instruments such as the piano and steel-string guitar, and gained experience in diverse styles, including Bach and Western Classical music as well as Jazz and Popular styles into the new Century. He studied at Gainseville College and received honors as outstanding musician, playing bass and accompanying the Big Band, Combo, and Chorus, and teaching piano after school to local students. In 2004, he spent a year studying Dorothy Taubman’s Technique with Sarah Steinhardt, and has since been concentrating on the piano and its literature. Ongoing musical projects that he is involved with include: Bassist with Band Of Gold (Atlanta’s premiere wedding band); Bassist for Athens-based Genesis Tribute Band; Bassist for Atlanta-based jazz/modern classical ensemble, Shark Week II.
