Piano, Voice | Grayson, Lilburn, Suwanee

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance with an Emphasis on Classical literature and a minor in Early childhood Education and Development from Florida State University. Carolyn has studied the anatomy and vocabulary of how the voice develops through exercise and song. She works to style the voice so it becomes the instrument you can depend on to accomplish your vocal goals. In addition to the standard classical approach to piano Carolyn has studied with Jazz teacher Ted Howe and uses chord voicings, chord progressions and modes in her approach in teaching all ages. She supplements her instruction using a simple EZ chord method and has taught Senior Citizens group classes on organ and keyboards using a similar approach. Carolyn strives to motivate and explore fun and creative ways into moving her students to the next level of their musical development.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
