Khaliq has been playing drums since the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped yet. Khaliq grew up playing drums in church and watching older musicians around him.By the age of 9 Khaliq had become the main drummer for Sunday services and began his work as a young traveling musician.He has been teaching Drums since 2017. He started off just by helping the students he was in high school with learn music and rudiments. Khaliq has many accomplishments throughout high school such as being apart of a jazz ensemble ,marching band, and receiving many awards as a percussionist.He continues to build those around him and help them progress into better musicians. Upon graduating high school Khaliq decided to come back and become the percussion instructor for South Gwinnett high school where he taught for two years 2021-2023. He taught approximately 30 plus kids weekly at South Gwinnett.Khaliq has decided to continue his education at Atlanta institute of Music and Media where he is studying Audio Engineering. While in school he continues to play and teach drums around the world. He currently holds a music director position for a church located in Atlanta Georgia and plays for many bands and churches around the Metro-Atlanta area. Khaliq prides himself on being a well rounded teacher and musician and his main goal is to reach one -teach one when it comes to his students. He believes every student is different in their own way but everyone can communicate through drums.His goal is to pour into the vision of the student so that no student leaves with their glass half full.
