Maureen Ong (Flute/Piano) earned degrees and diplomas in flute performance, piano, music history, and music theory from England and the United States. She graduated with her Masters in Music from Temple University, PA, where she studied with David Cramer, Associate Principal Flute of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She also studied with Christina Smith, Principal Flute, of the Atlanta Symphony. Ms. Ong has performed side by side with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Academic Orchestra Bonn, Germany, and the Penang State Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Malaysia. In addition, she has also performed with Temple University Symphony Orchestra and Temple University’s Opera Orchestra. Ms. Ong has been teaching for more than 15 years. She recently relocated to Georgia from Philadelphia, where she has been teaching flute, theory, piano, chamber music and flute choir at the Baldwin School in Philadelphia for 9 years. Ms. Ong has extensive experience teaching students of all ages and adults. Her teaching focuses on the individual student. She makes learning the flute and piano enjoyable yet structured. She strives to inspire and motivate her students to achieve their goals.
