Sebastian

Piano | Duluth, Grayson

Sebastian came from a family, with some professional musicians through many generations and grew up with classical piano training. Early he began to study music theory, compose and improvise. In his teen age he was jazz piano student of Christopher Dell. After graduating and civil service, he continued studying piano, in particullar the music of Chopin with Maciej Łukaszczyk at Chopin Gesellschaft Darmstadt Germany, but decided to pursue a masters degree in mathematics and study science at Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. At this time he also followed lectures in Musik Hochschule Köln and Academie für Tonkunst Darmstadt. Since 2001 he taught different people classical piano, theory and some exercises in improvising. As a former professional athlete, he knows about the connection between body, rational thinking and intuitive part in playing and interpreting music. With his wife, he moved to Lawrenceville in 2021. He wants his students to hear the music first and then to play it as well as finding their own personality in the music and express it.

“Music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
- Billy Joel
