Stacey started learning guitar in 1981 and started songwriting around the same time 1982-1983. Stacey began voice lessons in 2003 to prepare for his first solo album. Stacey has been in several bands and has written hundreds of songs. Stacey’s band Blackfox has been nominated for 2 Grammys, one for Embers in 2023 and one for Blackfox 4 in 2025. Stacey teaches music through guitar, songwriting and voice. The genres he teaches are rock, blues, jazz, pop and indie. Stacey believes in fun and creativity as you learn music. Stacey believes that discipline in learning the tools of music leads to the greatest freedom when it is time to create.
