Stephen has been instructing piano and music composition since 2021. Born in Olympia, Washington Stephen has been classically trained in piano since the age of 4. He has a vast repertoire in musical experience and training which includes blues, jazz, rock, pop, avant garde, classical genre, and more. Stephen has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and was a recipient of composition and piano scholarships. Stephen has also had the opportunity to perform in rock bands, jazz bands, and choral/ensemble performances, and even auditioned for America’s Got Talent, TCTV Talent Show where he was awarded the audience choice award. He has been a WMEA All -State baritone vocalist, accompanist for the Olympia High School and Washington Middle School choral program, and composer/performer of music for the Olympia High School Drama department. Through the years Stephen has acquired students ranging from beginners to advanced in music tutoring and instruction in piano, songwriting, and composing. Stephen values musical expression greatly and has a connection and understanding with all types of musical backgrounds and interests. His ultimate goal is to allow each student to flourish in what they are interested in while also harnessing the critical and fundamental classical techniques. Stephen wants each individual to achieve their personal goals, to feel free with their music and expression to create art that is their own personal style.
